Yin Yoga in Portland

Long-held, fully supported postures that give connective tissue and a busy mind time to properly release.

A student held in a supported seated yin yoga pose

Yin Yoga holds a small number of seated and reclined postures for several minutes at a time, giving connective tissue and the nervous system room to properly release. It suits students who want a slower counterpoint to a busy week or an active practice elsewhere.

What We Offer

  • 75-minute classes held twice a week, evenings
  • Long-held postures supported with bolsters and blankets
  • Dim lighting and quiet music throughout
  • Guided breath cues between postures
  • A seated meditation to close each class

Questions

Is Yin Yoga physically demanding?

Not in the way a flow class is. You will feel sensation in connective tissue as postures are held, but the pace is slow and supported with props throughout.

Can I take Yin Yoga alongside a more active class?

Many students pair Yin with Vinyasa Flow during the week, using Yin to balance a more active practice or a demanding work schedule.
